A few months ago, the NHL announced that they were bringing back their NHL 12 franchise and NHL 8.x franchises, respectively, in 2018.
With this news comes the news that the two franchises will be returning to the CW.
The re-launching of both teams in 2018 will coincide with the upcoming release of the CW series The Vampire Diaries.
The two new franchises will now be available to purchase through their respective digital storefronts on October 13, 2018.
The release date of the new franchises is October 27, 2018, and will be available through all participating retailers and on CW.com.
The CW also announced the availability of two additional new CW series, The Vampire Diaper, and Sci Fi: The Vampire Slayer: The Final Season.
Scooby-Doo and the Nightmare Before Christmas will be coming back for a second season on the CW, with the first season being available for purchase through CW.
Additionally, the CW is also announcing that the Lionheart, Gotham City Sirens, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Leverage, Wicked City, Savage Sword, Vampire Diaries, Supergirl, Ruckus, A.K.A. Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Powerless and Archie Comics’ Birds of Prey will be re-released in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
This marks the first time that both the CW and The CW will be reopening their digital storefront doors for both the new and old franchises.
Fans will be able to get a first look at these new DC Comics properties by visiting CW.com, where they will be showing off some of the newest and most anticipated DC Comics characters from the pages of the company’s new DC Rebirth line.
The CW will be holding a live stream of the launch of the new CW franchises on October 6, 2018 at 9pm PT.
